Under the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act and the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act, the custodian is the person in whose name property may be registered in order to make an irrevocable gift to a minor. The custodian is a fiduciary having broad powers to manage and distribute the property for the benefit of the minor.
